Guichard

Alix Guichard is a filmmaker and stop-motion animator, celebrated for her creative storytelling in both French and English. Her filmmaking journey began in childhood with stop-motion animations, where she developed her crafty and detailed approach to film.

After earning a film degree from Southampton Solent University, Alix went on to direct several short films for the Nikon Film Festival, exploring a range of genres from experimental to narrative fiction. Notable projects she has worked on include the Amazon Prime documentary Inside the Dream. This year, Alix is co-directing a documentary on UK youth centres and writing her debut feature film.

Alongside her filmmaking, Alix launched filmmaking workshops for schools, collaborating with organisations such as Heyday UK, the French Institute, the Young Film Academy, JGA Group, and more. Alix co-founded The Shoot Project, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to providing accessible and inclusive film education.

Through this initiative, she empowers young creatives, offering mentorship and helping them gain real-world industry experience. Alix views filmmaking as a transformative tool for education and creative expression, dedicated to inspiring the next generation of storytellers.
